What I write about
My essays are a mix of interconnections about how things work, where they’re going, and how to navigate the new society/economy—generally in 3 categories:
Creation: on the craft of creating and investing in art, businesses, and societies
Ambition: on the emotional life and culture of doing + creating remarkable things
Personal Flights of Fancy: topics (like luck or friendship or Blink 182 or Network States or addiction recovery or spirituality) that are interesting to me
In other words:
Not a tech publication.
Not a creativity publication.
Not a wellness/healing publication.
Not an addiction recovery publication.
Not a venture publication.
Not a startup society publication.
Not a philosophy publication.
Not an economics publication.
Not a literature publication.
But a secret, tenth thing.
More about me
I’m based in Texas, with some years in NYC and Chicago. I only recently started publicly publishing on the Internet but I’ve written and shared privately for years. Otherwise I split time between early-stage GTM work (Partner @ Market Fit), investing (Venture Partner @ WAGMI Ventures), and slower creative projects (I love creating music and am signed to a record label for my piano work).
Previously I founded an early-stage company-building agency called Copilot. Prior to that, I worked with Human Ventures (largest venture studio in NYC) and a few startups.
You can follow me on Twitter and read more on my website.
